Effect of Bed Rest

This illustrates the effect of bed rest when the fetus is diagnosed to have Asymmetrical IUGR. The blue dots represent the ultrasound measurements at 30 weeks of gestation. The patient was placed at bed rest. The growth of the abdomen improved. At 35 weeks of gestation, the growth of the abdomen returned to normal. This resulted in the Head/Abdomen ratio returning to normal and an acceleration if weight gain.
